People need to understand how everything works, in a general sense, to make the daily decisions & choices that you’re faced with to achieve the desired long-term goal.  When you know better, you do betterThis does take commitment and discipline, but everyone is capable and everyone is worth it.

My whole approach is based on my favorite flavors!  You have to find the seasonings you like best or learn to play around with different flavors.  Don’t be afraid to experiment.  I get excited about a new idea and changing up my meals.

 

I don’t count macros anymore, I don’t follow recipes.  I learned to eat from the “approved basket of foods” and I didn’t want this lifestyle to be overwhelming with tracking & counting calories, meal prep, etc. It doesn’t have to be that way.  In the beginning, macros are very important because that’s when you learn the portion relationships of carbs, healthy fats and proteins in your meals.  Over time, the constant tracking isn’t necessary because you’ll automatically know your portions.

 

We are never going to be 100% perfect, but we can be the healthiest version of ourselves.  All it took was a decision and the only thing that changed was maintaining that decision over time.

 

Most people quit because it gets too complicated, but I wasn’t going to let that happen.   This is the key to a lot of this!  Most diets become too time-consuming and that’s why people quit.

 

My approach is for you to do your own research and be your own advocate to help you navigate through this.  My goal is for people to rely on their own research and their own knowledge.  We need to take our health seriously.

My Story

I did all my own research, which helped me gain a huge understanding to how the body & its different systems work.  I began to apply the knowledge gained from a variety of sources, including doctors & other experts.

 

I started on this journey because I was sick & tired of feeling sick and tired.  I began this journey with a 7-day water fast, which seemed crazy to many people, however, I made that choice based on all of my research. Within a month of that water fast, I returned to my MD for a checkup and he was absolutely stunned by my results that he pulled out a notebook and took 20 minutes of notes from me and wanted to know all the key books I’ve read and where I gained my information on food healing the body.  Fast forward another month, I returned for a follow up visit to find out my MD had been studying a more natural approach because of my results.  He said they aren’t taught this information in medical school and that he believed that they’ve been treating people wrong for the last 70-years.  He has now been attending seminars on a natural approach to healthcare.  This was a huge sign to me that I was on the right path.  I’m a very data-driven individual & all of my personal data, including blood work keeps reinforcing that my current health journey is on the right path.

 

 

This has been a 2-year journey, so far, and I’ve lost over 80 lbs and went from a 2XL to Medium and in some cases, a men’s Small. It’s not about the weight; the weight falls off when your body is working optimally.  We are with our body 24/7 and for us to be educated and have a strong self-awareness, I believe, we can begin to diagnose ourselves in certain areas.  My MD completely agrees with this statement.
